Why Wedding Photography?
The love story between a couple is something that can be captured in photographs. I feel honored being given such an important job—to witness firsthand the commitment and emotions of a wedding day. Whether it's an elopement, a grand celebration, or a destination wedding in Vermont, I am honored to be part of your journey.
If you weren't shooting weddings, what would you want to photograph?
I’d be photographing people differently. I love all forms of portrait photography—whether it’s family portraits, senior portraits, headshots, boudoir, conceptual, environmental, or street photography. Capturing emotions and beauty while telling a story is what truly drives me. My goal is to help people see themselves in a way that breaks societal norms and expectations.
What does love and marriage mean to you?
Love and marriage, to me, are honestly pretty simple. It’s choosing each other on purpose. Not because you’re “supposed to” or because it looks good on paper, but because life is better when you get to do it with your person. Or your people. It’s the everyday commitment, the deep trust, the laughter that comes out of nowhere, and the way you keep showing up even when things are messy.
A wedding is just the celebration of that choice. It can be classic and elegant, totally nontraditional, tiny and intimate, loud and wild, deeply spiritual, or just a really beautiful party with your favorite humans. There is no one right way to get married. The only thing that matters is that it feels like you.
I’m an inclusive Vermont wedding photographer, and I care deeply that every couple and every family feels seen, respected, and celebrated. All genders. All identities. All relationships. All bodies. All cultures. All family dynamics including chosen family. Your love is valid and it deserves to be photographed with care and intention.
When I’m photographing a wedding, I’m not chasing perfection. I’m watching for connection. The way you look at each other when no one else is paying attention. The squeeze of a hand during vows. The happy tears, the chaotic laughter, the people who raised you, the people who found you, and the people you couldn’t imagine doing life without. I’ll guide you when you need it, step back when you don’t, and make sure you feel comfortable being yourselves the entire day.
If you’re looking for photos that feel real, elevated, and full of heart, while also working with someone who truly values inclusion, you’re in exactly the right place.
What do you value most when working with couples?
What I value most when working with couples is trust, comfort, and a little bit of “we’ve got this” energy.
I want you to feel like you can actually breathe around me. Like you don’t have to pose, perform, or wonder what to do with your hands. When you’re relaxed and being yourselves, that’s when the photos go from pretty to powerful.
I also value inclusivity in a very real way. All genders, all identities, all relationships, all family dynamics. I’m paying attention to names and pronouns, I’m making space for chosen family, and I’m creating an experience where everyone feels respected and celebrated.
And yes, I’m absolutely here for the good stuff. The happy tears, the chaotic laughter, the “wait what just happened” moments, and the way you look at each other when you think no one’s watching. That’s the magic. That’s what I’m chasing every single time.
Will you be the one shooting my wedding? If not, can I meet the photographer who will be onsite?
Yes I’ll be the one photographing your wedding. When you book with me, you’re not getting handed off to someone else.
You’ll have me behind the camera on your day, capturing everything with the same style, energy, and care you see in my work. If your coverage includes a second shooter, absolutely you can meet them.
I’m happy to set up a quick Zoom so you can say hello, get a feel for them, and walk into the wedding day feeling completely comfortable and confident with the whole team.
How many images can we expect from our wedding day?
For a wedding, you can expect 700-900 fully edited images, depending on the length of coverage and events throughout the day. What Factors Affect the Number of Images?
Several factors determine how many images you will receive:
Number of Events – A wedding with multiple traditions, receptions, or cultural ceremonies will naturally have more images.
Guest Count – A larger wedding often results in more photos to capture interactions, emotions, and group shots.
Second Photographer – Adding a second shooter allows for more perspectives and candid moments, increasing the final image count.
Activity Level of the Day – Weddings with entertainment, unique elements (e.g., fireworks, live music, or a choreographed first dance) generate more dynamic images.
Quality Over Quantity: While I capture thousands of images throughout your wedding day, my focus is on delivering the best moments that truly tell the story of your day. I meticulously curate and edit each photo to provide you with a stunning, high-quality collection that reflects the emotions, details, and joy of your wedding day.
Do you offer engagement sessions?
Yes! Engagement sessions are included in every wedding photography package I offer because they are an essential part of the experience. This session is not just about getting beautiful photos—it's about helping you and your partner feel comfortable in front of the camera before your wedding day. Here’s why I believe engagement sessions are so important:
Builds Comfort & Confidence – Many couples feel a little awkward in front of the camera at first, and that’s completely normal! Your engagement session allows us to work together, so by the time your wedding day arrives, you’ll feel natural and relaxed in front of my lens.
Captures Your Love Story Beyond the Wedding – Your engagement photos will showcase who you are as a couple in a more casual, everyday setting. Whether we shoot at a favorite park, your home, or a meaningful location, these images will highlight your connection in a way that’s different from your wedding day photos.
Helps Me Get to Know You – Every couple has their own unique dynamic. During your engagement session, I’ll learn what makes you laugh, how you interact naturally, and what poses or angles feel best for you. This helps me tailor your wedding photos to reflect your personalities.
Gives You Beautiful Photos to Use Before the Wedding – Engagement photos are perfect for save-the-dates, wedding websites, guest books, and even décor at your wedding. Plus, they make great social media profile pictures—just saying! Since an engagement session is included in every package, I encourage all my couples to take advantage of this time to connect, have fun, and capture stunning pre-wedding moments.
If you have a special location in mind or want inspiration on where to shoot, let’s chat—I’d love to create something meaningful for you!
Can we send you a shot list of must-have photos?
I welcome input on key family groupings or special moments, but I recommend trusting my artistic eye to capture your day authentically.
Do you help with posing, or is your style more candid?
I blend natural candid moments with gentle guidance when needed. My goal is to help you feel comfortable while capturing genuine emotion and connection.
How do you handle low-light or nighttime wedding photography?
I utilize professional off-camera flashes and advanced lighting techniques to ensure beautifully lit images in any setting, regardless of lighting conditions.
Additionally, I use high-quality lenses with wide apertures (such as f/1.2, f/2, or f/2.8) to capture stunning images in low-light environments while preserving the ambiance and mood of the moment.
My full-frame cameras further enhance image quality, allowing me to adapt seamlessly to any wedding scenario, ensuring that every detail is captured with clarity and artistry.
Do you take getting-ready photos?
Yes! I love capturing the excitement and details of the getting-ready process, from final touches on attire, hair, and makeup to meaningful moments shared with loved ones.
Can you photograph cultural or religious wedding ceremonies?
Absolutely! I respect and embrace all cultures and traditions and will work closely with you to ensure every meaningful moment is captured.
Do you take family portraits during the wedding day?
Yes! I recommend creating a list of essential family groupings to make the process smooth and efficient.
What’s your approach to capturing wedding details (rings, flowers, décor)?
I love capturing the small yet significant details that make your wedding unique, from rings and bouquets to invitations, table settings, and personal accessories. These elements help tell the full story of your wedding day and add depth to your final gallery.
To ensure everything is photographed efficiently, I recommend keeping all the items you’d like captured with one designated person. This helps avoid unnecessary back-and-forth and ensures that rings, accessories, and special details are easily accessible in each getting-ready space. This simple step allows me to photograph these meaningful elements beautifully and seamlessly, without delays or last-minute scrambling..
Do you offer a photo booth?
Yes, I do offer a photo booth for wedding receptions.
I have the Legacy model from Photo Booth Supply Co. and it’s such a fun addition to the night. It’s sleek, modern, and fits right in at a Vermont wedding without feeling cheesy or like an afterthought. Guests can walk up, tap the screen, and get those big energy reception photos that everyone actually wants. The kind of photos that end up on fridges, in group chats, and resurfacing every anniversary.
It’s perfect for cocktail hour or reception time because it keeps people entertained, gives your guests an experience, and lets everyone take home a little memory from the night. If you want that classic photo booth fun but with a clean, elevated look, this one delivers.
If you’d like, I can share what’s included with my photo booth setup and the best timeline spot to place it so it stays busy all night.
How far in advance should we book you for our wedding?
It’s best to book as early as possible, especially for peak wedding season. Most couples book 6 to 12 months in advance to secure their preferred date. Peak wedding season in Vermont typically runs from late May through October, with the busiest months being June, September, and October due to the beautiful summer weather and stunning fall foliage.
However, if your wedding is coming up sooner, don’t hesitate to reach out! If I have availability, I’d be happy to make it happen—even if your wedding is next month, next week, or even the next day. We’ll just need to ensure everything is in place so that we both feel comfortable and fully prepared to capture your day beautifully. It’s best to book as early as possible, especially for peak wedding season.
Do you require a deposit to secure our wedding date?
Yes, a non-refundable deposit of 50% is required to secure your wedding date. This ensures that I reserve the day exclusively for you. I understand that wedding planning involves many expenses, so I'm happy to set up a flexible payment plan to work with my couples. My goal is to make the process as seamless as possible and ensure that we are both comfortable and prepared for your big day.
Do you accept payments in installations?
Yes, I accept payment in installments. To make everything official and hold your date, I require either a 50 percent retainer or a payment schedule set up in advance. Once that’s in place, your booking is confirmed and you can move forward with total peace of mind.
What is your cancellation or rescheduling policy?
If you need to cancel or reschedule, please reach out as soon as possible. While deposits are non-refundable, I understand that unexpected situations arise. My goal is always to work with my couples to find a solution that ensures you still have the beautiful wedding photography experience you deserve.
I’ve always found a way to accommodate changes in a way that works for both of us, and I would never want to leave a couple without a wedding photographer. Let’s communicate openly, and I’ll do my best to make adjustments that suit your needs while keeping everything running smoothly.
Do you travel for weddings? If so, what are your travel fees?
Yes! I love traveling for weddings and am happy to capture your special day no matter where it takes place. There is no additional charge for weddings within Vermont. If your wedding is out of state and requires lodging, I’d love to get details about on-site accommodations or recommendations from your venue.
For international and destination weddings, I am excited to travel and document your love story in stunning locations. To make this possible, I require round-trip airfare, accommodations, and coverage for any additional baggage fees needed for photography equipment.
I’d love to discuss the details of your destination wedding, including the logistics, timeline, and location preferences, to ensure everything is planned smoothly. If you’re considering a destination wedding and would like me to be part of your day, reach out so we can create an experience tailored to your unique celebration!
Do you carry backup equipment?
Absolutely! I always have backup cameras, lenses, and flashes to ensure nothing is left to chance on your big day.
In fact, I was a Boy Scout, and the "Be Prepared" motto has stuck with me ever since. If there's one thing you can count on, it's that I come over-prepared. Extra batteries? Check. Extra memory cards? Always. Multiple cameras? Of course! If a lens malfunctions, I have another ready to go in seconds.
I even bring shout wipes, safety pins, and emergency supplies—because you never know when you'll need them! Your wedding day is too important to leave anything to chance, and I’ll make sure I’m ready for anything so you can focus on enjoying your celebration.
LGBTQ+ Weddings
Do you photograph LGBTQ+ weddings?
Absolutely! Love is love, and I am honored to photograph weddings for all couples, including LGBTQ+ weddings. Every love story deserves to be celebrated and documented beautifully. I am committed to creating a welcoming and inclusive experience where all couples feel comfortable and celebrated.
How do you ensure a safe and inclusive experience for LGBTQ+ couples?
I prioritize inclusivity in every aspect of my work. This means using gender-neutral language, respecting pronouns, and making sure every couple feels seen and valued. I also work with LGBTQ+ friendly vendors and venues to ensure a safe and welcoming atmosphere for your wedding day.
Do you have experience photographing LGBTQ+ weddings?
Yes! I have had the privilege of photographing LGBTQ+ weddings and commitment ceremonies. Whether it's a same-sex wedding, a non-binary couple, or a queer celebration, I bring the same passion and artistry to every love story.
Do you work with LGBTQ+-friendly vendors?
Yes! I have built relationships with inclusive wedding vendors across Vermont and beyond. If you’re looking for officiants, florists, planners, or other vendors who embrace diversity, I’d be happy to recommend professionals who align with your values.
Is $5,000 too much for a wedding photographer?
My wedding photography packages start at $3,000 for the initial coverage, but most couples invest around $5,000, depending on their unique needs. Some couples choose to spend even more to include additional photographers, heirloom albums, and a photo booth to enhance their experience. Every wedding is different, and I work with my couples to create a package that perfectly fits their vision and priorities.
How much should I pay a wedding photographer per hour?
In Vermont, the cost per hour for a wedding photographer typically ranges from $500–$700+ per hour, depending on experience, coverage needs, travel, and what’s included (professional editing, timeline guidance, a second photographer, and heirloom-quality albums). Pricing can vary across Vermont, including Burlington, Stowe, Woodstock, Middlebury, Manchester, Montpelier, and the Northeast Kingdom, especially during peak wedding season.
What is a normal budget for a wedding photographer?
A typical budget for Vermont wedding photographers ranges from $3,000 to $8,000, depending on the services included. My wedding photography packages start at $3,000, which covers the essentials.
Most couples invest around $5,000 to include a mix of must-have services, such as a second photographer, engagement sessions, or an heirloom wedding album. Some couples opt for a more customized experience, spending even more to include additional coverage, luxury albums, and a photo booth to make their wedding photography truly exceptional.
Your wedding is unique, and I work closely with every couple to create a package that aligns with their vision and ensures their memories are beautifully preserved for generations.
Do you retouch or edit all the photos?
Yes! Every delivered photo is carefully edited for color, exposure, and sharpness, ensuring a consistent, polished look.
Do you deliver raw/unedited images?
Nope I don’t deliver RAW images. And it’s not me being difficult it’s because my editing is a huge part of what you’re hiring me for. RAW files are basically unfinished photos. Think the before version. Flat dull unprocessed and honestly not a vibe. Most people don’t actually know what a RAW image looks like. Spoiler it’s not pretty.
Somewhere along the way a wedding blog decided couples should ask for RAWs and now it’s a thing until people realize RAW files are massive need special software to even open and they’re definitely not frame worthy.
What I do deliver is the good stuff. I go through your gallery I cull it down to the strongest images and I meticulously edit every single one so it looks consistent elevated and feels like you. The color the mood the magic the emotion that’s all in the final edit.
If you’re looking for an inclusive Vermont wedding photographer who’s going to make your photos shine from start to finish trust me you’ll love the finished images way more than a folder of unfinished RAW files.
How do you back up our wedding photos to ensure they are safe?
Your wedding photos are priceless, and I take multiple layers of precautions to ensure they are safe from the moment I capture them to the final delivery.
Here’s how I protect your memories:
Dual Memory Cards While Shooting – Every image I take is instantly saved to two separate memory cards in my cameras, ensuring an immediate backup in case of card failure.
Immediate Redundant Backups – As soon as I finish photographing your wedding, I back up the files to multiple external hard drives to prevent data loss.
Cloud Storage Protection – In addition to physical backups, your images are also stored securely in the cloud, protecting them from any unforeseen events such as equipment failure, loss, or damage.
Extra Layers of Caution – I never delete or overwrite memory cards until your final edited gallery is delivered, meaning your photos exist in multiple places at all times.
Long story short, I take no chances when it comes to safeguarding your wedding memories. Your photos are backed up at every step, ensuring they remain safe, secure, and ready for you to relive your special day for years to come!
